Are we there yet? Oh no, we haven't left...

Are you enthralled in analysis paralysis?

It is not unusual to get bogged down in analysis paralysis.  We spend excessive time working our way through all the possibilities so that we can eventually implement the "best" solution.  Is there such a thing as too much analysis?  I think yes, there is a point in time where we need to move forward with a solution, even if it is not perfect.

Instead of waiting for the ultimate solution, why not start with something reasonable and then update/retrofit as we move forward.  We can continuously evaluate the results and fine tune the solution.  We make changes based on real life feedback instead of attempting to identify all potential issues, many of which will never occur.

In the words of a former colleague, "I'd rather be 80% somewhere than 100% nowhere."   What holds you back, stopping you from making a decision to move forward?  Is something stopping you from accepting less than your best?   When does your best become a road to nowhere?
